Norwegian racer Stian Paulsen is hopeful that he can score podiums in both TCR Europe races at Spa-Francorchamps after a strong qualifying performance.
Paulsen will start fifth on the grid, two tenths behind fellow CUPRA runner Mikel Azcona, the joint-championship leader.
“Mikel is always really fast, so I have to be happy with that,” Paulsen told TouringCars.Net.
“I have to be happy with it because it was my first run out with good tyres on this track this weekend so quite a big difference.
“So quite happy I start P5 in both races, if we find some speed now then we have a chance of a podium in both the races.”
Paulsen, who runs his CUPRA under the banner of Stian Paulsen Racing, was waiting for parts this morning and was therefore pleased to qualify highly after a stressful morning.
“I hope for the podium in both races actually. If we can find a good set up for the race, and we can go forward from the first laps then a podium should be in reach.”
The first TCR Europe race of the weekend gets underway at 17:20 CEST (16:20 BST.)
