Provisional race winner Kris Richard has had his race two victory at Spa-Francorchamps taken away by virtue of a time penalty for contact with Julien Briché, handing the latter the victory.
The pair made contact on the penultimate lap of the race at the end of the Kemmel Straight, resulting in Briché taking to the run-off at Les Combes.
Speaking after the race, initial winner Richard told TouringCars.Net the contact with Briché was an unintentional racing incident.
“After the restart I just pushed as hard as I can I had a little contact with the Peugeot but it was definitely not my intention,” said Richard.
“I was full on the brakes and he changed his line a little bit and we had a really small contact and due to that he had an unstable rear.
“I think this was a normal racing fight.”
Richard was handed a one second time penalty for the incident, demoting him to second.
