TouringCars.net understands neither of the DPE Motorsport-run Alfa Romeo Giulietta cars will contest the TCR UK double-header at Brands Hatch today [3rd June].
Derek Palmer had been sidelined in qualifying with a blown engine gasket and failed to set a fast time, though team-mate and series newcomer Robert Gilmour put in a strong drive to start eighth.
With the top-ten second fastest times reversed to form the grid for the final contest, Gilmour would have enjoyed a second row start this afternoon.
A broken valve is understood to be the problem on the #76 machine.
Both cars left the circuit on Saturday evening after it became apparent a solution to remedy the issue could not be found in time for today’s races – set to take place at 13:20 and 15:45.
At this stage there is nothing to suggest both cars won’t rejoin the fray at the next meeting, scheduled for 14-15 July at Castle Combe.
