The championship leader made a late improvement to post a best time of 48.483 seconds in the WestCoast Racing-run Volkswagen Golf GTI to head up the front row.
Ollie Taylor made the perfect start to life in the Honda Civic Type R FK7 after joining Lloyd on the front row, 0.323 seconds adrift, with initial session leader Andreas Backman third.
Lewis Kent put in another promising showing in the Hyundai i30 N TCR as he chases a best result of the season so far, with Jessica Backman making it all three WestCoast VWs in the top five.
BMR Autoglym Academy’s Josh Price came next, a mere four hundredths of a second adrift, with the second Pyro Motorsport FK7 of Finlay Crocker and series debutante Robert Gilmour (Alfa Romeo Giulietta) for company behind on row four.
Newly-adjoined Maximum Motorsport team-mates Stewart Lines and Carl Swift locked out the fifth row in their CUPRAs, the latter claiming reverse-grid pole for the second and final contest as a result.
Howard Fuller will start the SWR-run Honda Civic FK2, which is struggling after a boost reduction, from 11th, with the Renault Megane TCR 12th on it’s UK debut in the hands of Alex Morgan.
Darelle Wilson put his Vauxhall Astra 13th, with Derek Palmer rounding out the field in the second DPE Motorsport machine after failing to set a fast time.
The opening race gets underway at 13:20 tomorrow.
