Hell Energy Racing Team with KCMG’s Attila Tassi is hoping he will have better fortunes at his home round of the Hungaroring for TCR Europe next month.
The 18-year-old suffered a disastrous weekend from start to finish at Spa-Francorchamps, after missing FP1 due to travel complications and then scoring no points in either race.
Tassi made contact with Jens Reno Møller at Eau Rouge in race one, and the pair made contact at the same spot in race two, with Tassi telling TouringCars.Net he was unhappy with the Dane’s driving.
“In race two I had a better start,” said Tassi. “I could make up a few positions and then Dušan Borković was in front of me, he tried to overtake [Francisco] Mora, he succeeded with it.
“I tried to use the situation, I ran next to Møller down to Eau Rouge and Møller was just coming closer and closer until we touched. He destroyed my front-left rim, which caused a puncture.
“To be honest I am really lucky to not have the puncture in Eau Rouge because I got it on the right hander [at Les Combes], so in that sense I am lucky but I am also a little bit pissed off with his driving.”
Despite scoring zero points at Spa, Tassi is more positive ahead of his home race in Hungary next time out [07/08 July].
“It’s just been a difficult weekend for us and for the team,” he said. “This is the first weekend where we didn’t collect a single point. So we will try to forget this as soon as possible and we will try to do our best in Hungary.
“It should suit our car better and obviously it’s my home round so I’m looking forward to hopefully be on the podium and get a win.”
