Dušan Borković says he will ‘fight for everything’ to hold on to sixth in the second TCR Europe race at Zandvoort, with the Target Competition driver expecting to have a difficult task in his Hyundai.
Borković finished fifth in the opening race on Sunday, having lost a place to Honda racer Josh Files at the start.
The Serbian driver already vented some of his frustration at the current Balance of Performance [BoP] situation on Saturday, when he claimed that the measures to raise the ride height to 100 mm and limit the power to 97.5% had left him confused about the decision-making process.
“Something has to change, because from the fastest car you made the slowest car,” said Borković to TouringCars.Net. “Look at the other Hyundais – they are far away.
“So much energy has been put into the project to make a good car, and from a good car they made in one night the worst car.
“This car now is the most difficult to drive – we don’t know how to find the setup. We don’t know anything, because no one has tested with 100 mm ride height. The dampers are working completely differently, and the reaction of the car is a disaster.
“The car was already slow on the straight and now, uphill, the Honda also with 97.5% pulled out two lengths [in race one] up to corner four.
“They have to change something, because we don’t have to be the fastest car, but not the slowest car.”
With Borković frustrated by the changes imposed upon his car he admits that he is planning to focus on holding his position in the second race on Monday to maintain his championship lead.
“I have to fight now for everything. I will fight just to keep my positions. It will be difficult of course to overtake; the car is so slow.”
