Dan Lloyd, Jessica Bäckman, Lewis Kent and Derek Palmer have been sent to the back of the grid for the first TCR UK series race at Knockhill after being found to be underweight at the end of qualifying.
Lloyd had originally qualified his WestCoast Racing Volkswagen on pole for the first race of the day but has had his qualifying times disallowed after his car was found to be underweight at the end of qualifying.
Kent hadqualified his Hyundai in seventh, whilst Bäckman had put her Golf in eighth for the first race.
The exclusion means that Laser Tools Racing’s Aiden Moffat will start from pole position for race one, with Pyro Motorsport’s Ollie Taylor alongside.
Lloyd will start from eighth as a result, with Kent in ninth, Bäckman in tenth and Palmer in 11th – with no change to the latter’s grid position.
TouringCars.Net understands that the teams in question appealed the decision but the ruling stands, leaving the cars to start at the rear of the field.
UPDATE: At the last minute the decision to send the four cars to the back of the grid was reversed, leaving the original qualifying order intact and Dan Lloyd to start from pole after all.
