TCR UK Series podium finisher Ollie Taylor believes the upcoming reverse grid race at Silverstone is set to provide an exciting spectacle.
The Pyro Motorsport racer capitalised on a slow start from Howard Fuller and made a bold move to the inside of Lewis Kent at Brooklands to seize third on the road, before defending from the Volkswagen Golf GTi of Andreas Backman to the flag.
He will start the final race from seventh courtesy of a reversed top-ten formed from second fastest qualifying times, with both race winner Daniel Lloyd and runner-up Aiden Moffat now behind on the starting slots.
“That was definitely what we wanted – points make prizes!” said Taylor to TouringCars.net
“We’ll take that and if you look at the two guys who’ve finished ahead of us, they’ve got more experience in these sorts of cars than I have; this was my first front-wheel drive race, so I’m quite pleased with that.
“If anything the second race is going to be even more exciting, the two guys that finished ahead of me are now behind. I’ll try to keep them at bay – I think the guys starting ahead are beatable, it’s going to make for an interesting race.”
The second race is due to get underway at 16:05.
