Ollie Jackson keen to continue strong results at Donington Park after maiden podium

AmD Tuning’s Ollie Jackson is hoping he can build on a strong start to his season at Brands Hatch, where he scored his first ever British Touring Car Championship podium.

The Tamworth-based racer opted for slick tyres at the start of race two, a call that paid dividends, rewarding him with third position.

Jackson scored points in the other two races, with 12th in race one and 14th in the final race, after a spell running towards the front of the pack.

He is hoping to carry this momentum into Rounds 4, 5 and 6 this weekend at Donington Park.

“We’re coming off a great weekend at Brands Hatch and my confidence is high going to Donington Park,” said Jackson.

“We showed great pace throughout race day last time out, and hopefully we can build on that during the weekend ahead and challenge for some more strong results.”

Despite scoring a maiden podium last time out, Jackson is keeping his expectations realistic this weekend at the Leicestershire circuit, potentially looking to gain from a strong reverse grid position for race three.

“There is no reason at all why we can’t be looking to score points in all three races and it would be great if we could break into the top ten,” added Jackson.

“If that put us in a position to benefit from the reverse grid, then who knows what might happen, as I think we shown that we now have a really strong car in the Audi.

“Whilst we can’t expect to be fighting for the podium as we did at Brands Hatch, we need to try and score as many points as we can to maintain our good start to the year.”
