Spanish outfit PCR Sport will enter a CUPRA TCR for Mikel Azcona in the 2018 TCR Europe Series, with the team also in negotiations about entering a second car.
The team will enter 21-year-old Basque Country racer Azcona into the new seven-event TCR Europe series this year. The Spaniard has previously tasted success in the Spanish Renault Clio Cup, where he was runner-up in 2014 and 2015.
In 2016 Azcona moved into the SEAT León EuroCup where he was also runner-up, before he again finished second best overall in the 2017 Audi Sport TT Cup.
“This is a great challenge for us and I feel hopeful and excited… like crazy,” said Azcona, who has recently tested the car at Navarra and Barcelona. “I wish to thank my sponsors for trusting and supporting our project.”
The team are in negotiations to enter at least one more car into the TCR Europe series.
