LMS Racing will enter a CUPRA León for Olli Kangas in the opening round of the TCR UK series at Silverstone, with the team using the event in preparation for its upcoming STCC campaign.
Kangas has previously competed in a TCR car on the Northamptonshire circuit, having competed in the recent Silverstone 24H race.
Kangas shared the car with fellow Finns Antti Buri and Kari-Pekka Laaksonen in the 24H race, finishing third in the TCE class.
The presence of Finland-based LMS Racing marks the first overseas entry in the inaugural TCR UK series.
“Our plan for Silverstone will be to test some things before my season starts in Sweden,” said Kangas. “My focus this year will be the STCC, so this will probably be my only race in the UK as we have a busy schedule ahead of us, including some VLN and endurance races as well.
“I like driving at Silverstone. I was there a couple of weeks ago driving in the 24H race, so I am looking forward to competing in TCR UK.”
Jen Mouratsing, the TCR UK Championship Manager, is expecting further teams to enter TCR UK events over the course of the season.
