Finlay Crocker believes the Honda Civic Type R TCR has the potential to make large development steps ahead of the inaugural TCR UK Series campaign.
VFR Racing hit the track with their new challenger at the championship’s official test at Silverstone yesterday [6th March], with an eye-catching camouflage livery.
Given the car only arrived on domestic shores the night before and with no prior testing, Crocker was delighted with the performance of his new machine.
“It’s fantastic. JAS have done a really good job and there’s a real difference in finish compared to the old car,” commented Crocker.
“This is my first time out in it, obviously, so it’s a bit conservative at the moment but all in all I think we’ve got the basis of a really good car.
“The new Civic is quite a development and I think it’s got the potential to make good gains.
“We’re really looking forward to the TCR UK championship; it’s only three weeks or so away now and we need more testing time, but that’s down to the fact that the car only came into the UK on Monday and so hopefully we’ll get a decent grid in the first few rounds and the championship will go from strength to strength.”
