Team HARD has retained the services of Jake Hill to pilot one of a planned four-car Volkswagen CC line up for the 2018 British Touring Car Championship season.
Hill joins reigning Renault UK Clio Cup champion Mike Bushell and VW Cup series winner Bobby Thompson at Tony Gilham’s outfit for the upcoming campaign.
The team has confirmed he will score points alongside Bushell in the Independent Teams’ Championship. Hill will also be eligible for the Jack Sears Trophy, open to drivers without a podium finish in 2018.
Hill made the switch from AmDtuning.com to Team.HARD back in 2016, taking a career-best fifth behind the wheel of an aged Toyota Avensis.
His best finish in the updated Volkswagen CC package last year was sixth at the 2.99 mile Snetterton circuit.
The rising star is confident that, with experienced BTCC engineer Geoff Kingston now on board after his recent switch from Speedworks Motorsport, the team are in a position to fight regularly at the front in 2018.
“Last season we had some great pace, but our results didn’t really reflect just how competitive we really were,” admitted Hill.
£So for 2018 I am really excited to be part of Team HARD Brisky Racing again. I can’t thank Tony, Gary, Kingsley and the guys enough for the faith they have shown in me and the opportunity to continue our journey together.
“With Geoff (Kingston) on board and seeing the impact he has already made, implementing several fairly major technical changes to the car, I know we will be in a really strong position to regularly challenge at the front”
