Leading TCR International Series outfit WestCoast Racing are “seriously considering” entering the new-for-2018 TCR UK Series.
The Swedish team have accumulated 16 wins since joining the TCR International Series for the very first race in 2015, making them one of the most successful outfits in the category.
WestCoast Racing currently run a pair of Volkswagen Golf GTi cars in the international series, with Gianni Morbidelli being a mainstay of the operation, being joined by Italian youngster Giacomo Altoè and latterly Thai Kantadhee Kusiri in the team.
Team Manager James Nixon says that the team are now looking to the UK as part of their plans for next year.
“We’ve had some discussions with TCR UK promoter Jonathan Ashman and I’m impressed with his plans for the new British series,” said Nixon. “We’re now looking at the viability of joining in 2018.
“We’re a winning outfit and we have the resources to make that happen in the UK. We’ll now start talks with potential drivers and hope to firm up our plans in the short to medium term.”
