Chinese outfit ZZZ Team will enter a pair of Audi RS3 LMS TCR cars in next weekend’s TCR International Series races at Zhejiang in China, to be driven by Tengyi Jiang and Zhendong Zhang.
The Zhejiang-based squad will enter the cars for their home round, which will be the first major international event at the brand-new circuit.
Jiang has previously raced in the TCR International Series, when he took part in the second-ever event in Shanghai in 2015 with Target Competition.
The 32-year-old has also claimed several race wins in the Chinese Touring Car Championship (CTCC) in Ford and Volkswagen cars, and claimed the Super Production title in 2014.
An Audi will also be entered for Jiang’s 25-year-old team-mate Zhang, who is the reigning CTCC Super Production champion.
Before joining the Shanghai VW 333 Racing team, where he is also team-mates with Jiang, Zhang raced for Haima in the championship.
“We are very excited to join the TCR international Series and race at Zhejiang Circuit.,” said Team Manager Dennis Zhang. “It is our very maiden appearance and we have some very competitive racers form China.
“I believe that the TCR international Series is the ideal platform to show what we can do.”
