On-the-road winner Marco Wittmann has been excluded from the results from the second DTM race at Zandvoort for having insufficient fuel in his BMW, handing victory to Audi’s Mike Rockenfeller.
Wittmann had originally won on the road from Rockenfeller, but his BMW M4 was found to have insufficient fuel in post-race checks.
The result means that Rockenfeller inherits the win ahead of Loïc Duval and Mattias Ekström.
Wittmann had originally moved up to second in the standings on 118 points with his first win of the season, but the German is now eighth overall with 93 points, behind two other BMW drivers.
Ekström gains points in the championship battle and now has 128 points, ahead of Audi stable-mates René Rast and Rockenfeller on 114 and 110 points respectively.
The result gives Rockenfeller his first win since Moscow in 2015.
