Kris Richard has been confirmed to compete in the second race of this weekend’s ADAC TCR Germany Series at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, despite retiring on the penultimate lap of the first encounter earlier today (Saturday, July 8th).
The Target Competition driver suffered an engine bay fire on the final corner of the 3.667-km circuit, whilst battling with eventual winner Moritz Oestreich for the victory.
A Target Competition spokesperson confirmed to TouringCars.net earlier today that the Swiss racer’s Honda Civic suffered the fire due to a fuel line issue, after he suffered a lack of power.
Work is currently underway to repair the #94 Civic TCR at the moment, after damage to the engine and surrounding areas to get the vehicle ready to race.
As a result, Richard will have to start at the back of the field, with the second race starting at 1015 local time, lasting for 30 minutes.
