Hungarian outfit Unicorse Team will enter an Alfa Romeo Giulietta in this month’s TCR International Series races in Hungary, with Márk L. Jedlóczky getting behind the wheel.
The 18-year-old youngster began his racing career in 2014, competing in slalom competitions. He then moved into rallying at wheel of Subaru and Mitsubishi cars, before moving into touring car racing earlier this year.
Jedlóczky took part in the first round of the FIA Central European Zone Circuit Championship earlier this year, competing in a SEAT León entered by Zengő Motorsport, where he dominated his class in both races.
The former handball player admits that he is a little nervous ahead of his international racing début at the Hungaroring, where he will line up with his ‘idol’ Norbert Michelisz.
“I would be lying if I said I did not worry a bit,” said Jedlóczky. “I think my real goal is to get the best starting position in terms of conditions and finish both races as best as I can. It will be quite challenging, especially as I am racing in the first international competition in my life.
“I would also like to say that I am extremely honoured to be able to take part in a tournament with some of the biggest competitors in domestic car racing, not only including Ferenc Ficza and Attila Tassi, but also my idol Norbert Michelisz. He is an inspiration to me.”
The TCR event in Hungary takes place next weekend (17 / 18 June) at the Hungaroring, after this weekend’s races at the Salzburgring in Austria.
