Recalculated weights see Honda and Volvo go heaviest

Both Honda and Polestar will be hit with the maximum 80 kg of compensation weight for this weekend’s World Touring Car Championship races in Hungary, following the first in-season recalculation of 2017.

The two marques have won two of the four races held so far in 2017, albeit crucially both of the Main Races where outright pace is more likely to decide the result. In the first two events of the season both Honda and Volvo enjoyed running without any compensation weight.

The weight of the Citroën C-Elysées remains unchanged at +50 kg.

Neither the Chevrolet RML cars, nor the independent LADAs will have to carry any compensation weight for the event in Budapest this weekend.

It is the first time that Polestar Cyan Racing will have to grapple with the maximum amount of weight in their S60 since joining the championship full-time with the car in 2016.
