Rob Huff will make his début in the TCR BeNeLux Series this weekend, where the Brit will race a Leopard Racing Volkswagen Golf GTi with Jean-Karl Vernay.
The 2012 World Touring Car Champion has been signed to share the car with Vernay in this weekend’s first round of the season at Spa-Francorchamps.
Huff has previously competed in the TCR International Series at the wheel of a Honda Civic TCR, taking a memorable win at Macau in 2015.
“I’m really looking forward to this opportunity to race with such a great team as WRT,” said Huff. “They’ve been one of the top teams in motorsport for years, and to race with them at Spa-Francorchamps, also one of my favourite circuits, is fantastic.
“I’m also really looking forward to racing with Jean-Karl. He’s a fast driver and currently the championship leader of the International Series, and I’m sure we’re going to work well together.
“I’ve got a lot of experience in the TC 2000 series’ Buenos Aires 200 km race, so I’m used to sharing a car during a weekend. It’s not so often I do it with a touring car though, so it’s going to be an interesting experience.”
Other famous names to be taking part in this weekend’s races are Stefano Comini, Mat’o Homola and Tom Coronel. In total fifteen cars have been entered for the first weekend of the TCR BeNeLux season.
