Portuguese racer José Rodrigues has confirmed his participation in the 2017 ADAC TCR Germany Series, racing a Honda Civic for Target Competition to take the grid size to 43 cars.
Rodrigues was a race winner in TCR Portugal during 2016, and will now step up to the ultra-competitive TCR Germany championship for the forthcoming season.
“It’s official, I’m back,” posted Rodrigues on his social media channels. “This year I will participate in the most competitive TCR championship in the World with 43 cars.”
The 27-year-old was victorious in one of the TCR Portugal races on the Vila Real Street Circuit last year, on his way to fifth overall in the championship standings.
Fellow Portuguese racer Francisco Mora, who was runner-up in the series last year, had also expressed a desire to race in TCR Germany but has not appeared on the official entry list.
The TCR Germany Series season kicks off at Oschersleben on the 28th April 2017.
