Following his post-race penalty in race two, Hugo Valente has subsequently also been given a €3,000 fine for insulting the stewards and reportedly breaking their printer.
Valente was given a post-race 30-second penalty in race two for overtaking under yellow flags, after he initially finished in second on the road behind his Craft-Bamboo Racing.
The penalty dropped the Frenchman to ninth and denied him a first podium in the TCR International Series.
Valente, clearly disappointed by the decision, considering his team-mate Pepe Oriola was let off after initially also having been under investigation, then went on to insult the stewards and reportedly break their printer.
As a result he was fined for “Unsporting Behaviour (insulting the panel of stewards)” in accordance with Article 12.1 of the International Sporting Code (ISC).
Valente leaves Georgia having therefore collected just two points, leaving him 13th overall in the drivers’ championship standings.
