The planned TCR International Series race on the Monaco Street Circuit will not go ahead after all, with a replacement event now scheduled to take place at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza.
When organisers of the TCR International Series first unveiled their provisional 2017 calendar at the end of November, it notably featured a blue riband event in support of the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix in May.
However, the prospects of the event actually taking place suffered a blow just days later, when the Automobile Club de Monaco released a statement denying that the event would take place.
TCR organisers have since worked to make the event a reality, but it has ultimately been replaced with a race at Monza two weeks earlier, on the 13th and 14th of May.
The F1-supporting races in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi will continue as planned, along with new events in Georgia, Hungary and China, at the brand new Zhejiang International Circuit.
The 2017 TCR International Series season kicks off in Georgia next weekend (1 – 2 April).
