Münnich Motorsport’s Rob Huff continued to dominate the World Touring Car Championship timesheets on Wednesday morning, with the Brit over a second faster than fellow independent Citroën racer Tom Chilton.
Having been fastest in both of Tuesday’s morning and afternoon sessions, Huff continued to set the pace on Wednesday morning with a best time of 1 minute 52.497 seconds, which was four tenths faster than he had gone the previous day.
Sébastien Loeb Racing’s Chilton, who will also be in action at the British Touring Car Championship media launch on Thursday, was second, 1.185 seconds off the pace.
Tom Coronel was third fastest in his ROAL Motorsport Chevrolet, getting up to speed after missing part of Wednesday’s activities due to clashing commitments.
Polestar Cyan Racing driver Néstor Girolami was fourth quickest, 1.61 seconds off the pace.
The factory Honda Civics continued to lap off the pace, with Tiago Monteiro putting in the Japanese marque’s best time in seventh, just over two seconds off the pace, ahead of Ryo Michigami and Norbert Michelisz.
Not all cars recorded timed laps, with the other Volvos of Yvan Muller and Thed Björk not running timing transponders in their cars.
