With over 40 cars now confirmed to compete in this season’s ADAC TCR Germany Series, GermanFLAVOURS Racing have now stated their intent towards a top-15 finish in this year’s championship, with a pair of new Audi RS3 LMS being run by the Sprockhövel-based outfit.
Thomas Kramwinkel, who was announced by the team as their first driver back in December of last year, will be partnered by another young talent in the form of Berlin racer Sven Markert.
The pair raced in one of the new Audis in the recent four-hour Winter Endurance Championship finale at Circuit Park Zandvoort, where they finished second in the Division II class, whilst placing overall in the top ten.
“Basically, we went without expectations. It should be the first serious test run for the Audi and our newly formed team,” explained team boss Bernd Hohaus, who worked with Kramwinkel in the STT(Spezial Tourenwagen Trophy) last season.
“At just 19, Sven is quite a talent, so I’m particularly looking forward to the team-internal duel,” said Kramwinkel, who admitted that he needs to get up to speed with Markert, who has more front-wheel drive experience.
But the team is optimistic of it’s chances for some good results this season, even with a highly competitive grid set to take part over seven rounds this year.
“Our goal isn’t to get across the line first, but we need to first of all see where we stand,” explained Kramwinkel.
“We’re looking to be in the top 15, and then we’ll see how we get on from there.”
The official pre-season test takes place at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben between the 10th and 12th of April, before the teams and drivers head back just two weeks late
