Ciceley Motorsport have renewed their partnership with renowned race engineer Marco Calovolo for the forthcoming season, appointing the CEO of Hexathron Racing Systems as Technical Director.
The team have been working with Calovolo for the past year, with the Italian helping Adam Morgan and Aiden Moffat in one of the team’s best seasons in 2016, in which Morgan was twice victorious.
Calovolo, who has also previous worked with Eurotech Racing as well as teams in the World Touring Car Championship and in China, will therefore continue to work with Ciceley Motorsport, adding an additional race engineer to the programme.
“The positive work done in 2016 has been the base to confirm the collaboration between Ciceley Motorsport and Hexathron Racing Systems for this season, adding a third engineer to support the two Mercedes A Class,” explained Calovolo, who concentrates his time as Morgan’s race engineer.
“We made a big step forward during the winter working on many areas, and the first tests on track gave us very confident results. I think we can be on top in every circuit, the team is well motivated as the drivers, who grew up race by race last year, specially Aiden.
“I can’t wait to be at Brands Hatch and see where we are now in terms of performance compared to the other teams!”
Hexathron have confirmed that Maurizio Soro will be the data engineer for both Mercedes-Benz A-Class cars, whilst Moffat will once again have Federico Turrata as his race engineer.
Hexathron Racing Systems also support KIA in the China Touring Car Championship.
