Liqui Moly Team Engstler will run five Volkswagen Golf GTi cars in this weekend’s TCR Middle East Series races in Dubai, after adding Slovakian duo Mat’o Homola and Filip Sládecka to their entry portfolio.
The German team had already announced last week that Luca Engstler, Brandon Gdovic and Stefan Goede would be racing at the United Arab Emirates circuit.
Now TCR International Series race winner Homola will be added to the line-up, alongside TCR newcomer Sládecka.
“I’m glad that the TCR family grows with a new championship, which for me is an opportunity to stay in shape and prepare for the upcoming season in the International Series,” said Homola, who raced a SEAT León for B3 Racing in TCR International in 2016.
“I am looking forward to racing in the Volkswagen Golf that is new to me, even though it has many points in common with the SEAT I drove last year.
“I tried the Dubai circuit on the simulator and I really like it, as it is full of long fast corners that suit my driving style.”
Sládecka is new to TCR but not touring cars, having raced in the 2013 and 2014 European Touring Car Cup at the wheel of an Alfa Romeo 156 S2000.
