Target Competition have confirmed via their official Facebook page that they will be fielding a six-car squad for the 2017 ADAC TCR Germany Series season, but have yet to announce what car they will be using.
Over the past two seasons in any TCR category, the Austrian outfit have run the SEAT Léon, Honda Civic and Opel Astra thus far.
Swiss racer Kris Richard, who won this year’s FIA European Touring Car Championship (ETCC) drivers’ title ahead of Petr Fulín, is the first of their confirmed drivers.
Richard took the title from the Czech driver on countback after the final round at Imola, after an impressive début season in touring cars, having made the move from trucks.
“Anyone who wants to get involved in motorsports has to listen to his gut feeling and choose the best personal offer,” said the former Rikli Motorsport driver on his official website.
“I feel very good at Target Competition and think that I can achieve a lot in ‘TCR Germany’. I look forward to the new challenge!”
Target will be looking to continue their good run of form in TCR Germany, having taken both the drivers’ and team titles, whilst Josh Files is considering his options after becoming the inaugural drivers’ champion.
