The entire TCR field will be given a 20 kg weight break for the season finale on the streets of Macau, in an effort to improve the performance of the cars relative to local CTCC entrants.
The four different models of TCR car on the grid (including two variants of SEAT) have been dropped by 20 kg.
It means that the minimum base weight of the SEAT León TCR SEQ, Honda Civic TCR, Volkswagen Golf GTi TCR and the Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR cars will be at 1,265 kg, down from 1,285 kg.
Elsewhere, the older-spec SEAT León TCR DSG model may now run at 1,230 kg instead of 1,250 kg, making it the lightest car on the grid.
Balance of Performance [BoP] weights are added on after the minimum base weight is taken into account. As a result, the SEAT León TCR SEQ and the Honda Civic are the heaviest cars on the grid at 1,295 kg, followed by the Volkswagen Golf on 1,265 kg and the Alfa Romeo on 1,245 kg.
No BoP weight has been added to the SEAT León DSG.
The move comes in an effort to make the TCR field faster in comparison to the local CTCC entries, which form nine of the cars competing for track space during the Guia Race 2.0T.
