The Opel Astra will return to the TCR International Series as the next round in Singapore, with Kissling Motorsport running a single car for young Spaniard Jordi Oriola.
The car has not been seen on the international stage since the first round of the TCR International Series season in Bahrain, with the German manufacturer since focussing on further developing the car.
The Astra has, however, run in both the national TCR Germany Series and the TCR BeNeLux Series, taking victory in the latter recently at Zolder.
The car will now compete in the Formula One supporting event on the streets of Singapore as the car continues its development path, of which it is nearing the end.
As a result of the recent performance of the car in national series’, the Astra has been given a Balance of Performance [BoP] allocation of 20 kg in addition to its minimum running weight of 1,285 kg.
