Filipe Clemente de Souza will return to the TCR International Series for the forthcoming race on the streets of Singapore, racing a Liqui Moly Team Engstler Volkswagen Golf GTi car.
De Souza previously raced a SEAT León in the event in 2015, going on to also compete in the following round in Thailand for the Roadstar Racing team.
This year the Macanese driver has been contesting the TCR Asia Series for Liqui Moly Team Engstler, where he has recently taken a first podium finish of the season in Shanghai.
De Souza has previous history with Engstler Motorsport, which includes contesting the Asian leg of the 2014 World Touring Car Championship with the team. He also made appearances in the WTCC between 2011 and 2014.
The 39-year-old is one of a number of one-off drivers expected to announce their participation in the Formula One-supporting race.
De Souza will also join the TCR International field for the following event in Malaysia, as the two Series’ combine due to a last-minute cancellation of one of the circuits on the original TCR Asia Series calendar.
