A season-best contingent of 26 cars have been entered for this weekend’s round of the TCR International Series in Thailand, with a number of entries from the national TCR Thailand Series joining the grid.
Although not part of the TCR Thailand calendar, a number of teams and drivers will enter the event at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, keen to show off their talent to the world.
Local entries come from a number of teams. The Kratingdaen Racing Team will enter three SEAT León Cup Racers for Thai driver Grant Supaphongs, German driver Alexander Mies, and Taipei racer Chen Jian Hong.
A trio of Honda Civic TCR cars will be entered by Vattana Motorsport, for Narasak Ittiritpong, Eakie BBR Kaiten, for Kantadhee Kusiri and the TBN MK Ihere Racing Team for Nattachak Haniitkasen.
A second car for Vattana Motorsport, a SEAT León Cup Racer, will also be entered for Thai driver Jack Lemvard, whilst LMS Racing have also entered a SEAT for Finnish driver Kari-Pekka Laaksonen, who has been competing in TCR Germany in 2016.
Munkong Sathienthirakul makes a return to TCR International following his one-off entry at the circuit last year, this time racing with Liqui Moly Team Engstler in their second Volkswagen Golf GTi.
The Yontrakit Racing Team will also enter a SEAT for Rattanin Leenutaphong, bringing the total number of Thai entries to eight.
In addition, Top Run Motorsport return to TCR competition with Luigi Ferrara racing their Subaru WRX STi, whilst Mulsanne Racing continue with their pair of Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR cars for Petr Fulín and Michela Cerruti.
Elsewhere, Frenchman Rafaël Galiana returns to the series, racing the third WestCoast Racing Honda Civic, having competed in all of the Asian events of the 2015 TCR International Series.
