Honda has been hit with the maximum 80 kg of compensation weight for its home round of the World Touring Car Championship next month in Japan.
The Japanese marque will have to share the same amount of weight as reigning champions Citroën at their home event, which marks the first time that the Civics have received as much ballast.
Citroën have had to carry the maximum weight ever since the start of the season.
LADA have failed to shed any of their 50 kg of weight, running at the same levels as in the last round in Argentina despite a dismal weekend in South America.
As a result of strong performances at Termas de Río Hondo, the independent Chevrolet cars will run with 10 kg of weight, due mostly to the performances of regular Tom Coronel and one-off entry Esteban Guerrieri.
The Polestar Volvo S60s will continue to run at the minimum 1,100 kg base weight.
Honda’s hit of extra weight comes at an event where they will expand to four works cars for the first time, with Tiago Monteiro, Rob Huff and Norbert Michelisz being joined by Ryo Michigami.
