Dunlop have released the tyre selections made by the teams and drivers ahead of today’s British Touring Car Championship triple header at Knockhill.
Jason Plato will start his 500th career race from pole position as he seeks to convert it into a 95th victory, but Tom Ingram alongside is aiming to maximise a strong qualifying performance on used rubber to claim his second win this campaign.
Behind them loom the ever-ominous BMW 125i M-Sport’s of championship contender Sam Tordoff and his team-mate Jack Goff, with Silverline Subaru BMR Racing’s Colin Turkington rounding out the top five.
From discussions within the paddock yesterday evening, TouringCars.net understands that, for the second season in succession, the softer compound is considered the ‘optimum’ race tyre.
A large majority of the field has chosen to run the rubber in either the opening or middle contests, rather than the slightly more hectic reverse grid contest in the late afternoon.
