LADA Sport has completed what they called a ‘successful’ test at the Spanish Motorland Aragón circuit in Spain, ahead of the next round of the World Touring Car Championship in Argentina next week.
Drivers Nicky Catsburg and Gabriele Tarquini were in action during the three-day test for the manufacturer, using the team’s fourth ‘test’ chassis whilst the race cars are being shipped to Termas de Río Hondo in Argentina.
A statement from the team on the test described the squad as ‘making the most of the hot dry weather to conduct chassis work and other development tests’.
LADA are already enjoying their most successful season in the WTCC, having taken two 1-2 finishes on home soil in Russia and eight podium finishes so far. Catsburg himself is lying third overall in the drivers’ championship standings, vying for the honour of being ‘best of the rest’ behind the dominant José María López.
The eighth round of the WTCC takes place on 6-7 August in Argentina.
