B3 Racing’s Dusan Borkovic was left unsatisfied after qualifying for rounds nine and ten of the TCR International Series. With strong results in both free practice sessions, ninth and fourth respectively, it was hoped that qualifying would provide a strong result.
This was not to be the case as a rain flooded the circuit forcing drivers to dramatically change their driving styles and adjust to conditions polar opposite to those which they had experienced in Free Practice.
Nevertheless Borković was able to put his SEAT fifth on the grid ahead of team-mates Mat’o Homola and Attila Tassi, who had shown strong form in the morning sessions.
With a number of fans making the journey from Serbia to support their leading racing driver, Borković admitted that he was satisfied with his performance at his closest TCR race to home.
“I am satisfied with the start of the weekend,” said Borković. “I had a great pace in free practice and qualifying but the change in weather conditions during qualifying stopped me from making a faster lap.
“I feel good and enthusiastic before the races tomorrow especially because I have a lot of fans and journalists from Serbia that came to support me on Salzburgring.
“This is a tricky circuit with long straights and fast curves and especially with the rain it’s going to be a challenge for all the drivers. I am looking forward for the races and I hope the weather will be kind to us.”
