Both the SEAT León TCR and the Honda Civic TCR have been given a 10 kg weight break ahead of the TCR International Series races at the Salzburgring this weekend.
The cars had been the heaviest on the grid for the first races of the 2016 season, with both previously running at 1,325 kg thanks to a 30 kg difference to the other cars.
Now the two pace-setting cars in the championship have been given a 10 kg weight break, dropping their overall weight to 1,315 kg, thanks to further tweaking of the Balance of Performance regulations.
It comes after a recent upturn in performance of the Volkswagen Golf GTi racer, which took one victory in each of the past two events.
The Golf is the next heaviest car on the grid at 1,285 kg, whilst the Alfa Romeo Giuletta TCR is at 1,265 kg and the SEAT León Cup Racer is at 1,250 kg due to being fitted with a DSG gearbox.
The changes will also be applied to the next events in the various TCR regional and national series.
