Jack Goff cited traffic problems as his main issue during the opening practice session of the new season, with the Team IHG Rewards Club driver setting the seventh fastest time of 48.507.
Goff, who completed a total of twenty-eight laps of the short Brands Hatch Indy configuration, was left frustrated after his two best efforts at setting a competitive time were hampered by slower cars.
“On my best two laps I got traffic” he explained. “There’s probably a couple of tenths still in the car. We’re okay, we should be in a good position come qualifying.”
Goff finished the session as the slowest of the three WSR drivers in the first session, which was topped by Speedworks’ Tom Ingram, with team-mates Collard and Tordoff ending the session third and fifth respectively.
Heading into the second free practice session at 12:45, Goff indicated the team are now set to focus on refining the balance of his BMW 125i M-Sport.
“We’re always looking for a better balance.” he commented.
“Just generally improving [is the aim], the more laps I do the better. I just need to keep chipping away at it and get more experience under my belt.”
