WestCoast Racing’s Aku Pellinen has lost his maiden podium finish in the TCR International Series in Bahrain, after the Finn as adjudged to have made a false start in the second race.
Pellinen had originally finished in third on the road in the eventful race, but was stripped of his third-place finish after the stewards deemed he had jumped the start.
Although he had been under investigation during the race, no formal penalty was issued during the ten-lap sprint.

Pellinen has subsequently had a post-race 30-second penalty applied, dropping him to tenth overall and handing B3 Racing’s Dušan Borković a first TCR podium.
A similar penalty was also handed to B3 Racing’s Mat’o Homola, who drops from sixth to 11th as a result.
