Engstler Motorsport has signed European TC2T champion Davit Kajaia to race one of its Volkswagen Golf cars in the 2016 TCR International Series.
The 31-year old from Georgia is the first driver to be announced for the second season of the TCR International Series, following a successful campaign in the European Touring Car Championship (ETCC) in 2015 at the wheel of a Liqui Moly Team Engstler BMW 320 TC.
He has previously raced in the Georgian Slalom and Legends Series, being crowned champion three times in the Legends European Cup between 2012 and 2014.
“We are happy to continue working with Davit,” said Team Manager Kurt Treml. “The new car and new tracks will be a great challenge for him and the team, but we are confident that together we may enjoy another successful season in 2016.
“We will run three Golf TCR cars in the 2016 TCR International Series and soon we will announce our two other drivers.”
