The 2016 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) calendar has been released, featuring 18 races over nine weekend, including the return of the Hungaroring at the expense of a round at Oschersleben.
The series will once again begin at the Hockenheimring in early May and will also conclude at the Baden-Württemberg venue in early October.
As is the tradition with the DTM calendar, the racing season is once again shorter than the off-season, lasting just over five months.
A round at the Hungaroring in Budapest has been added to the calendar once again, with the event having returned in 2014 but not been on the 2015 calendar.
The addition of the Hungarian round means only just over half of the calendar, five events, are in Germany, with the other four in Austria, The Netherlands, Russia and Hungary.
Plans to expand the calendar to ten events were met with concern from manufacturers that costs in the largely German series would increase substantially.
