Jack Goff secured his maiden British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) win at Snetterton back in August, and is looking ahead to the Brands Hatch finale this weekend to secure another visit to the top step of the podium.
“There is something about Brands Hatch that seems to bring the best out of me, and I want another win this season,” said the 24-year-old, who finished second at the Grand Prix track in the final race of his début season.
“We’ve shown that we have had the pace on several occasions this year but the luck hasn’t always been on our side.”
Goff has also taken two podiums this season, with a second at Brands Hatch Indy in April and Silverstone a fortnight ago, which clearly shows the pace of the Triple Eight-prepared MG.
This is along with the consistency that Goff has had during his third year in the series, where he has had only four non scores this season.
But with the field being so competitive with eight champions competing, along with a triple world champion in the form of Andy Priaulx, Goff said there will be no holding back from both himself and team mate Andrew Jordan.
“I’ve been second on both the Indy and the GP circuit so I am desperate to finally take the top step of the podium there and I’m optimistic we can challenge from the outset.
“It’s important to round out the season on a high for MG and Triple Eight as well, so it will be all guns blazing from both Andy and I.”
The High Wycombe-based driver, who is currently ninth in the drivers’s standings on 207 points, is also not leaving anything to chance, especially with the weather always making its mark during the last weekend of the championship.
“It wouldn’t be the finale without it probably being wet at some stage, so we will keep our eyes on the skies and the forecast.”
