René Münnich will return to WestCoast Racing for the TCR International Series rounds in Singapore and Thailand, with the German returning to the series after initial outings in Malaysia and China.
Münnich scored a best result of second when he competed in the first two meetings of the season, before being replaced by Ukrainian Igor Skuz for the majority of the subsequent European rounds due to his clashing rallycross commitments.
Münnich will race alongside regular drivers Gianni Morbidelli and Kevin Gleason, with the former vying for the overall title. As Münnich has already proven himself as a podium contender, he could prove to be crucial in helping the team to the coveted title.
The German has been competing predominantly in the FIA World Rallycross Championship in 2015, where he has been classified in a best result of 12th at the wheel of his own team’s self-developed Audi S3.
The announcement means that Münnich will miss his first World RX event of the season in Spain, which clashes with the TCR event in Singapore on the same date.
