Campos Racing’s Fernando Monje and Bas Koeten Racing’s Bas Schouten will both return to the TCR International Series in Salzburg this weekend, with Monje coming off the back of a maiden podium in Italy.
Monje took his and the Opel Astra’s first-ever podium in the TCR International Series in race two at Monza, with the Spaniard having shown strong pace throughout the weekend. As a result, Team Manager Monje will continue to drive the car this weekend at the high-speed Salzburgring in Austria.
22-year-old Monje has previously claimed a double victory at the circuit in the 2012 European Touring Car Cup (ETCC).
Also returning to the TCR Series is Dutchman Bas Schouten, who first appeared at the Spanish round in Valencia at the start of May. The team are expanding their venture into the TCR Series, which was originally intended to be a one-off evaluation for the Spanish event.
Schouten scored a brace of points finishes in his TCR début, finishing in ninth and eighth in the two Spanish races respectively.
