Following on from issues raised this evening by Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) rights holders ITR e.V, the DMSB (German Motorsport Federation) and all three manufacturers, the two day test that was set to take place at the Eurospeedway Lausitz on Tuesday and Wednesday has been put on hold.
The reasoning behind this is due to teams and drivers finding the tyres supplied by current DTM partner Hankook are deviating from their normal characteristics through previous tests carried out.
ITR Chairman, Hans Werner Aufrecht announced at Hockenheim last year that Hankook would continue as the DTM’s official tyre partner, but that the option tyre would no longer be used.
Until further notice, ITR has stated that until a detailed investigation has been carried out by Hankook themselves and the findings are presented, no further test sessions will take place.
