Italian outfit Top Run Motorsport are to build a TCR-specification Subaru Impreza STI car to compete in the TCR International Series, with the team planning to début in Singapore in September.
The North Italy based team have a history of experience in Group N rallying, winning four titles in the Group N World Rally Championship.
The team, with origins dating back to the 1980s, have previously worked with successful brands such as Lancia, Alfa Romeo and Mitsubishi (between 1996 and 2002) and have been working with Subaru Technical International since 2003.
Team Principal Antonio Agnello revealed that the team are planning to make their touring car début at the F1-supporting Singapore event in just five months time.
“We are very excited about this new project,” said Agnello. “We believe in the TCR concept and are confident that the Impreza is a suitable car to compete with great potential. We are very grateful to Subaru Technical International for the trust they put in allowing our team to launch this project and we are now working flat out to respect the goal of appearance in the TCR International Series’ event at Singapore.”
The addition of a Subaru to the grid would mean five brands are represented in the TCR International Series, alongside SEAT, Honda, Audi (to be replaced by Volkswagen) and Ford.

and yet the races haven’t seen all of these brands. And even the Audi TT is just a bodykit for a SEAT that was assembled in Barcelona.
TCR Int’l should keep their inital promise first and deliver all the cars to the track, the teams preparation was really poor.
