Reigning China Touring Car Champion Tengyi Jiang will join the TCR International Series grid in Shanghai, China this weekend as a last minute replacement for Alex Yang.
Yang was originally meant to join Target Competition in their fourth SEAT León Racer, but has been forced to step down from driving duties as his wife is about to have a baby.
As a result, Target have signed the rapid Jiang to drive their fourth car. The Chinese driver moved in to touring car racing in 2011, having previously raced in single seater racing, including the Formula Renault Asia Challenge and A1 GP.
Driving for Changan Ford Racing Team between 2011 and 2013, Jiang claimed three race victories and finished runner-up in the 2013 Super Production championship.
A move to the Shanghai VW 333 Racing Team in 2014 brought instant success, with Jiang taking two race wins on his way to being crowned champion in the Super Production category.
16 cars have been entered for the second TCR meeting this weekend.
