Target Competition will enter a fourth SEAT León Cup Racer for Chinese driver Alex Yang in this weekend’s TCR International Series meeting in Shanghai, whilst Zengő Motorsport have changed driver, with Norbert Tóth replacing Ferenc Ficza.
Target Competition, who run three full-season cars for drivers Stefano Comini, Andrea Belicchi and Michel Nykjær, are to enter a one-off fourth car for Yang.
The Chinese driver is currently competing in his first season in the Japanese Formula 3 Championship, and makes his first foray into touring car racing at the F1-supporting event this weekend.
At Hungarian team Zengő Motorsport 16-year-old Tóth replaces Ficza, who achieved two top ten places in the first-ever meeting in Malaysia.
In addition, entries for Proteam Racing’s Ford Focus and one of Campos Racing’s Opel Astras have been withdrawn due to persistent technical problems. Whilst Proteam and driver Deigo Romanini will not be present in China, Campos Racing have opted to field a SEAT León for driver Igor Skuz alongside their sole working Opel.
The changes mean that sixteen cars have been entered for the second meeting of the season, just one fewer than in Malaysia.
