Jordi Oriola has confirmed that he will enter two TCR International Series meetings in 2015 with Team Target Competition, alongside a second full-season with the team in the SEAT León Eurocup.
The 18-year-old Spaniard, who finished ninth in the Eurocup last season, will make his TCR debut at his home event in Valencia on May 3rd in a SEAT León and is also due to appear at Monza three weeks later.
“I am very happy to contest these two rounds of the TCR International Series because I aspire to be in this championship in 2016,” Oriola said. “It is on another level for me, as I will be going up against some of the best Touring Car drivers in the world, so I will have a good initial contact with the series in Valencia and Monza. A very full season is ahead of me and I want to make the most of it.”
Oriola is the second driver to be confirmed by TCR so far, joining Germany’s Franz Engstler, who will run a fleet of VW Golfs with his own team.
Oriola’s elder brother Pepe, a former winner in the WTCC at Marrakech, is also seeking a drive in TCR, although he has yet to confirm his plans.
