Serbian World Touring Car Championship racer Dušan Borković has received a boost for the 2015 season, with new backing secured from the Serbian Automobile Association and AMS Insurance.
Borković made his début in the WTCC in 2014, competing in all events except for the season finale in Macau, which he missed due to an injury sustained in China. The Serb finished the season in 14th overall, having scored a best result of second in Japan, his most recent WTCC race to-date.
“I would like to thank Automobile Association for recognising the importance of our project for Serbia,” said Borković at a press conference in Serbia. “I will do my best to get even better results next year together with my sponsors.”
Borković, who is Serbia’s most successful raced car driver, will be working on a programme of road safety initiatives and improving motorsport in Serbia in cooperation with the Serbian Automobile Association. President of the organisation Mirko Butulija expressed his delight at the start of the cooperation.
The first WTCC race of 2015 takes place in Argentina on the 6th March.
